For schools, the beginning of a new year begins after the Winter break with School Board Recognition Month and Woodburn School District students recently recognized their our volunteer school board members during January’s regular meeting.

Students from the district put their creative powers to use and honored school board members with hand-made gifts and art for their office.

School board members also took some time, as they do during most meetings, to recognize staff and students selected by their school principals as well as to present both girls and boys soccer champions with certificates of recognition for their recent accomplishment of winning state titles.

Other staff member and students recognized were from Nellie Muir Elementary and Valor Middle schools.

Lady Bulldogs Soccer Coach, Andrea Whiteman, receives recognition from the school board for leading her team and winning the first state championship title under the girl’s soccer program. 

WSD School board received handmade gifts from students during January which was National School Board recognition month.
