Greetings WSD friends:

We are very excited to open Matilda the Musical this weekend at the high school! The show runs Friday-Saturday, February 7-8, 14-15 at 7:00 pm. Adults are $7, students/seniors are $5 and staff with ID are always free!

Fun facts to know and tell:

* More than 70 student artists are involved in making this show happen!

* We are one of only four schools in Oregon that was allowed to produce this musical in its first year the performance rights were made available. Big honor!

* We are thrilled that our lead actors represent all four schools on the high school campus. Representing AIS, Carmen Elsasser plays our hero, Matilda. Richard Garcia from WAAST is playing Ms. Trunchbull with much hilarity. Andra Pascalar, representing WEBSS, sings her heart out as the teacher, Ms. Honey. And, of course, WACA is represented by Anna Koffler and Zimri Torres who play Matilda’s terrible parents. Come support these student artists!

About the show:

Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Matilda The Musical revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs Matilda is a joyous girl power romp. All ages will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination. A family-friendly performance, this show would be rated PG, if it were a film.

See you at the theatre!
